Eating Disorder Treatment
Eating disorders are a widespread physical and mental health condition, impacting approximately 4% of Australians each year.Some people may not (yet) have a diagnosis of an eating disorder, but they feel that their current relationship with food, eating patterns and habits are unhealthy and disrupt their lives.
Eating disorders do not discriminate. Any person of any age, gender or cultural background can develop an eating disorder, and they are severe, life-threatening physical and mental health conditions. Eating disorders are very complex, with the expressions varying vastly for each individual and each type of eating disorder.
Our clinicians are skilled and certified to provide services using evidence-based interventions, assessments, and therapies. We provide therapy to clients with an Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan or privately. Our Eating Disorder treatment and service is mobile, which means that we travel to see you in your preferred place, provided it is suitable for therapy. Eating Disorders can severely impact our body's ability to function healthily. Long-term disrupted eating can have disastrous consequences on a person's major organs and their functioning.There are different types of eating disorders; the most common are Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), and Unspecified Food and Eating Disorders (UFED).

Fees, Rebates & Funding
The standard fee for a 50 minute therapy session is A$195. If the session is on location, travel charges will apply.
Core Counselling & Consultancy provides services through Medicare to those clients with a Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan. Alternatively, you may be eligible for rebates from your private health insurance. Please check with your provider about eligibility.
Core Counselling & Consultancy does not bulk bill their eating disorder treatment services. Please contact us to discuss fees and rebates if you are experiencing financial hardship.
